Touts the Association’s representation of job creators and small businesses in Pennsylvania
On Sunday night, Auditor General Jack Wagner addressed members of the Pennsylvania Restaurant Association at their banquet in Pittsburgh. In February, the Association endorsed Wagner saying he “has a well established record in public service and what it takes to navigate our state through the difficult waters ahead.” The endorsement was based on Jack’s positions on public policy issues, his involvement with, interest in, and knowledge of the restaurant industry’s legislative priorities, and an assessment of his ability to win the Democratic primary election for Governor.
The Pennsylvania Restaurant Association represents the real job creators and small businesses in the Commonwealth, Wagner said. State government must do all that it can to create a positive economic environment for the growth of this industry. They are facing tough challenges due to additional regulation and taxes. We must work with this industry rather than creating impediments to their success.
The Association represents more than 7,000 Pennsylvania restaurants and foodservice establishments. Pennsylvania’s restaurant industry plays an integral role in the state’s economy, employing more than 470,000 people and generating $16.2 billion in annual sales.
