Pennsylvanians had the new health care law on their minds and asked Jack about it during his campaign stops this week. Here are some of the highlights of his responses to voters’ questions.
The federal health care package will provide health insurance to an additional 1.3 million Pennsylvanians and will also provide a protective mechanism to those who are vulnerable to losing health care and to college students and young people who still live at home. The challenge for the next Governor is to reform the structure of Pennsylvania’s existing health care system and integrate the proposed federal regulations as efficiently and effectively as possible. As Governor, one of my top priorities would be to reform Medicaid, which has an error rate that costs taxpayers at least $300 million per year.
